Get ready to dive into the heart of Edmonton’s vibrant downtown and picturesque river valley with the Do North Triathlon, and new this year, the Do North Cross Do-athlon– part of the Americas Triathlon Cup weekend, Saturday August 24th & Sunday August 25th. Choose one or both of these exhilarating events…and rare opportunities to race the river valley!  The Do North Triathlon is a sprint triathlon on a closed urban course, offering athletes an unique opportunity to test their limits in one of Canada’s most beautiful cities. Whether it’s your first triathlon, or your 50th, this promises to be a fun and friendly race but just challenging enough for those hardcore weekend warriors!

Swim: The journey begins with a refreshing dip in the stunning Queen Elizabeth Outdoor 25m pool. Athletes will power through a 750m swim, surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Queen Elizabeth Park.

Bike: Transitioning from water to wheels, participants will embark on a 20km bike ride through Edmonton’s iconic landmarks. Crossing the historic Walterdale Bridge, athletes will pedal along the scenic River Valley Road, tackling the exhilarating climb of Groat Road before enjoying a thrilling descent. With closed roads ensuring a safe and smooth ride, cyclists can focus solely on the thrill of the race.

Run: Lace up your shoes for a 5km run that showcases Edmonton’s natural beauty and urban charm. From the challenging hill of Queen Elizabeth Park to the winding trails along the North Saskatchewan River, every step promises adventure. With aid stations strategically placed along the route, participants can stay hydrated and energized as they push towards the finish line.

New to our line-up this year is the Do North Cross Do-athlon!  A 13km mountain bike and 5km trail run utilizing the single track and multi-use scenic trail system spanning from Emily Murphy Park to Nellie McClung Park.  The mountain bike portion will include two laps of ‘blue-rated’ trails.  This race is recommended for intermediate riders and will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!

After crossing the finish line, stay on-site to enjoy post-race recovery provided by ARC by Pivotal Physiotherapy and to cheer on the elite triathletes from across the continent compete for important World Triathlon points in the Americas Triathlon Cup.
