Army 10K Presented by the Loyal Edmonton Regiment
The Edmonton Marathon is thrilled to feature the ARMY 10K race, proudly presented by The Loyal Edmonton Regiment, a distinguished Primary Reserve infantry unit of the Canadian Forces. Known affectionately as the “Loyal Eddies,” this regiment is based at the Jefferson Armoury in Edmonton and holds the honor of being Alberta’s first infantry unit, with roots dating back to 1908. The Loyal Edmonton Regiment boasts a storied history, having been deployed overseas during both World Wars, and has continued its legacy through participation in UN and NATO operations worldwide, as well as numerous domestic missions in support of Canadians.
The 10k race, which is part of the main Edmonton Marathon event, is great for beginners and a good test of a seasoned runner’s fitness.
Youth Participation
The Servus Edmonton Marathon is committed to decreasing barriers to participation for youth. Youth pricing is set at $20 for the 5K and 10K races. Participants must be at least 16 years old to run the Half Marathon, with youth pricing available for those aged 16-18. The goal is to foster a sense of belonging and overall well-being through positive community involvement and healthy, active events. This initiative aims to encourage first-time experiences in physical activity and wellness. Thanks to charity partners Ever Active Schools and KidSport Edmonton for supporting this effort.
1K Kids Fun Run/Walk
The Servus Edmonton Marathon’s organizing committee is excited to announce the return of the 1K Kids Fun Run and Walk. The event will start at 12:15 P.M., with the route heading west on Jasper Avenue and turning around at 103 Street. Participation is free for children aged 6 and under, while those aged 7 and older can join for $10. All registered participants will receive a finisher medal, though no shirts will be provided. Parents can accompany their kids without registering, and strollers are permitted in the 1K event.
