Get ready, YEG! The Hoop City 3X3 Festival is dribbling back into town, and it’s shaping up to be one of the hottest events of the summer. From July 31 to August 3, 2025, the Ice Palace at West Edmonton Mall transforms into a basketball lover’s paradise, where pro-level athleticism meets family-friendly festival vibes—and we’re all invited to be part of the action.

At YEG Thrive, we’re all about building strong communities through movement, sport, and shared experiences. And this event? It checks every box.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Festival

Hoop City 3X3 is more than a basketball tournament—it’s a global celebration of sport, hosted right here in Edmonton. As one of the top 3×3 events in the world, it brings together:

FIBA 3X3 World Tour – Featuring the best men’s teams from around the globe
FIBA 3X3 Women’s Series – Canada looks to dominate again after three straight wins
Hoop City Festival QUEST – Elite qualifiers for men and women hoping to climb the international 3×3 ladder

And guess what? Spectator admission is completely free. Just show up, grab a spot by the court, and prepare to be wowed.

A Festival for the Whole Community

What sets this event apart is how inclusive and community-driven it is. In addition to the pro-level excitement, there’s a Youth Showcase, a Wheelchair 3X3 Challenge, live DJs, food, entertainment, and fun for all ages.

Festival Highlights:

This isn’t just a spectator sport—it’s a celebration of sport’s power to unite, energize, and uplift.

Bring Your Cheer Game, YEG

You don’t need to shoot three-pointers to be part of the action. What this festival needs—what Edmonton needs—is an electric, supportive crowd to raise the roof of the Ice Palace. Let’s rally behind our Canadian teams, cheer for the underdogs, and bring that signature YEG pride to every buzzer-beater and breakaway.

Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to hang out at West Ed, soak in some good vibes, and maybe snag a bubble tea between games. #Balance, right?
